THE INSPIRING JOURNEY OF RENOWNED KATHAK DANCER SOURAV ROY

Sourav Roy’s journey into the world of Kathak began at a tender age, under the initial tutelage of Sri Goutam Sengupta. His passion and dedication to this classical dance form led him to train for over two decades with the eminent Guru Dr. Malabika Mitra. Sourav’s commitment to perfecting his art saw him participating in workshops with legendary Gurus like Pandit Birju Maharaj, Pandit Rajendra Gangani, Pandit Vijay Shankar and Smt. Kumudini Lakhia.

Sourav’s exceptional talent and hard work have earned him significant acclaim both in India and internationally. He is a recipient of the senior National scholarship from the Culture and Tourism Department, Government of India, and is an empanelled artist of ICCR, EZCC, and a graded artist of Doordarshan Kendra, Kolkata.

His journey is a testament to the power of dedication and passion in achieving excellence in the world of Kathak.
