Held from March 26th to 28th, this event celebrated the timeless beauty of Indian classical music. Esteemed artists Partha Pratim Roy on the sitar and Kaushik Konwar on the tabla captivated audiences with their extraordinary talent and harmonious musical dialogues.
Partha Pratim Roy’s incredible journey in Indian classical music is a testament to dedication and artistry. His devotion to mastering the sitar, under the guidance of revered maestros Pandit Debiprasad Chatterjee, a disciple of Pandit Nikhil Banerjee, Pandit Anil Palit, Pandit Partha Chatterjee, has allowed him to share the soul-stirring magic of ragas with audiences worldwide. From historic performances like the Youth Festival in Calcutta to the memorable recital at Max Muller Bhavan, his music resonates with passion and perfection.
Alongside him, Kaushik Konwar’s remarkable tabla skills further elevate the essence of every performance, creating a symphony of rhythm and melody that lingers in the hearts of listeners. Together, their contributions enrich the legacy of Indian classical music and inspire generations to embrace its timeless beauty.
Renowned sitarist Partha Pratim Roy beautifully expressed his musical journey:
“In every concert, we immersed the audience in the soul of Indian classical music, performing timeless ragas like Patdeep, Yaman, Charukeshi, Darbari and Bhairavi. We wove lighter melodies such as Chaiti, Rangi Sari, Sufi tunes, and ghazals rooted in ragas like Yaman, Pahari and Khamaj. Every recital concluded on a divine note with cherished bhajans like ‘Vaishnava Janato’ and ‘Raghupati Raghava,’ leaving a lasting spiritual harmony.”
The performances, hosted across venues like Lakhimpur Medical College, Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science, Nowboicha College, Dhakuakhana College and Madhabdev University, enriched the cultural fabric of the community.
