RENOWNED KATHAK DANCER PALLAVI SHOME: A JOURNEY OF GRACE AND HERITAGE

Renowned Kathak dancer Pallavi Shome‘s story is one of grace and rich cultural heritage. Born into a distinguished family, her father, Pratap Pawar, who served at the Central Sangeet Natak Akademi in New Delhi, was an acclaimed violinist and the foremost disciple of Padma Bhushan Pandit V.G. Jog. Her mother, Seema Pawar, is a Sangeet Prabhakar in Vocal Music.

From a young age, Pallavi was drawn to dance. She began her training at the age of seven at Kathak Kendra in Delhi, where she learned the nuances of the Lucknow Gharana under the guidance of esteemed gurus Guru Munna Lal Shukla, Guru Reba Vidyarthi and Guru Bharti Gupta. 

Pallavi Shome excelled at Kathak Kendra, was honoured with a scholarship. After completing her Post Diploma,  she  pursued her Nritya Visharad from the renowned Bhatkhande University of Music in Lucknow.

Renowned Kathak dancer Pallavi Shome has performed on various platforms including Swar Sadhana Samiti, “Naman” – Pandit Lacchu Maharaj Smriti Utsav organized by UP Sangeet Natak Akademi, a Kathak & Odissi fusion program called “Sangamanee” at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mumbai, and “Guru Arpan” in memory of her late Guru Reba Vidyarthi in Nagpur. 

She has also performed at “Smriti Sangeet Utsav” in Benares, Sandipani Sangeet Mahotsav in Porbandar, Girnar Mahotsav in Junagadh, and Nritha Nrithyathi in Bhilai. 

Renowned dancer Pallavi Shome has performed at the prestigious Rajgir Mahotsav 2023.

IN RECOGNITION OF HER PERFORMANCES, SHE HAS BEEN CONFERRED WITH THE TITLES OF NRITHYA VILASINI AND GIRNAR RATNA.
