Ranjit Sarkar, born in Kolkata in 1975, has long captivated audiences with his ability to blend modern artistic forms with the enduring spirit of traditional symbolism. With roots in Indian-style painting, his work often reimagines mythology and religious characters, presenting them in a nuanced light that encourages reflection and connection. Influenced by Impressionism, Cubism, and Surrealism, Sarkar’s art offers a harmonious dance of the fleeting and the eternal.
“Dive into a realm of colors, emotions, and thought-provoking themes at Prismatic Narratives, the upcoming solo exhibition by acclaimed contemporary artist Ranjit Sarkar. Artist Biography
Ranjit Sarkar’s journey as an artist is as remarkable as the pieces he creates. Born in Kolkata in 1975, he has honed his craft under the tutelage of celebrated professor Samir Ghosh at Chandpara Art College and holds a Diploma in Painting from DQ, Hyderabad. With roots in Indian-style painting, he reimagines traditional symbolism and mythology through a contemporary lens.
Ranjit’s solo exhibitions have captivated audiences across India and the globe, including showcases at renowned venues like the India Habitat Centre, All India Fine Art and Craft Society and Chitrakala Parishad in Bangalore. Internationally, his art has traveled to cities such as Dubai, Singapore and Boston, earning him accolades like the AIFACS Award and the Kalaspandan International Award.
