Holding a master’s degree in Assamese literature from Guwahati University, she has delved deep into the roots of Sattriya, conducting extensive research on its various dimensions, including the rich cultural tradition of “Ojapali,” under the guidance of the Sattriya Kendra.

Her achievements are vast and inspiring—honored with Junior (2005–2007) and Senior (2022–2023) Fellowships by the Government of India, and recognized as an ‘A’ graded artist of Doordarshan Kendra, Anita has become a cornerstone of Indian classical dance. As an empanelled solo artist of the ICCR working as resource person for CCRT, New Delhi, and an artist associated with SPICMACAY, she has shared her art across major festivals like Khajuraho and Konark, enchanting audiences with her performances.
