Anita Sharma, a celebrated virtuoso in the mesmerizing world of Sattriya dance, is a powerhouse of talent and dedication. Anita Sharma, a celebrated exponent of Sattriya dance, has left an indelible mark both in India and beyond. A proud recipient of the prestigious Sangeet Natak Akademi Award (2014), her dedication to preserving and promoting this classical art form is unmatched. Holding a master’s degree in Assamese literature from Guwahati University, she has delved deep into the roots of Sattriya, conducting extensive research on its various dimensions, including the rich cultural tradition of “Ojapali,” under the guidance of the Sattriya Kendra.

Her achievements are vast and inspiring—honored with Junior (2005–2007) and Senior (2022–2023) Fellowships by the Government of India, and recognized as an ‘A’ graded artist of Doordarshan Kendra, Anita has become a cornerstone of Indian classical dance. As an empanelled solo artist of the ICCR working as resource person for CCRT, New Delhi, and an artist associated with SPICMACAY, she has shared her art across major festivals like Khajuraho and Konark, enchanting audiences with her performances.

Anita Sharma’s artistry knows no borders; she has mesmerized audiences in the U.K., Sweden, the U.S.A., and countries in Central Asia under the banner of ICCR, alongside performing in global platforms like the Sydney Dance Festival, Australia and Erasing Borders and New York’s Drive East Festival. A true cultural ambassador, Anita Sharma continues to be a beacon of dedication, elegance, and excellence in the world of dance.
