TASMAI – A CENTRE FOR ART & CULTURE, PUDUCHERRY CONDUCTS UNIQUE WORKSHOPS ON CRAFT AND LANGUAGE

WORKSHOP ON PALM LEAF CRAFT – a Craft programme on every Wednesday – This week Session starts today @ 5.00 PM

Marie Theresa, member of the Art and Craft Village, Murungapakkam, Puducherry conducts workshop on ‘Palm Leaf Craft’ with varied designs and teaches how to make eco-friendly wonderful baskets, pouches, containers, trays, files, children’s rattles, mats and jewelry.

Earlier she has conducted many workshops at Tasmai, Puducherry.  She also undertakes training workshops at her home under the aegis of the District Industry Centre (DIC).

WORKSHOP ON LANGUAGE – LET’S SPEAK IN TAMIL – a language programme on every Wednesday – This week Session starts today @ 6.00 PM

“Language is a very strong part of culture. To understand the local people and their culture, speaking and understanding the language is important. In this workshop you will be given simple tips to grasp the roots of the language so that you can communicate and read easily,” says the organisers of the programme who conducts the workshop as the ancient Dravidian language, Tamil is the official language.

KALAIMAMANI SAROJA is also a painter, conducting many exhibitions and workshops.
