COLOUR & HAUTE COUTURE
“Color is my daylong obsession, joy, and torment.” ― Claude Monet

The inauguration marked the celebration of International Women’s day and was organized as a beautiful fashion show of ‘living Paintings’. HAUTE-COUTURE – a collection of unique painted dresses by Larissa Noury was created with renowned designer Jean-Marie Pujol, who worked at Dior and Yves Saint Laurent atelier, created his own brand and had among his clients some very well-known people like Greta Garbo, Elizabeth Taylor, Brigitte Bardot etc. was also presented as an extension of the Show. Many dignitaries including ambassadors were present during the inauguration. Please see the movie here:
“Living paintings – is higher than Haute Couture, it is something that adds a very personal touch to a haute couture creation, these are works painted freehand and each dress is a continuation of my paintings, that is to say that there is a theme in my paintings that continues in my dresses,” explains Larissa Noury.
“I created a universe where the tactile colours build both a universal and personal imaginary space. The lays of colour overlap and interact in order to evoke the feeling of harmony and well-being. What is important for me is to create and transmit energy. It is not only visual image, it is more than that, because the very important point is to capture the positive energy that comes from natural light and materials, which come from Nature, from the Universe and try to transfer and keep it on painting compositions,” Lariss Noury shares about her unique tactile paintings at the exhibition before the journalists present in the exhibition.
MY PAINTING IS TACTILE PAINTING; I INVITE PEOPLE TO TOUCH IT, TO DISCOVER THE WORLD THAT IS GREATER THAN OUR VISUAL WORLD
“My painting is tactile painting; I invite people to touch it, to discover the world that is greater than our visual world. This tactile colour is between Science and Art; Science of psychology of perception (as visual as tactile) and Art of New impressionism. We could call a style, a New Impressionism, because with overlapping layers I create an image that is constructed in our imaginary world by playing off the color materials and pigments. The difference is just that the Impressionists and the pointillists created the image with points, strikes or dots – I create it by overlapping layers as an architect build the house with a few stores. The color compositions are stronger when they create the diptychs, the triptychs, 4 or even 16 panel elements because they can tell a story: there is always the beginning, the subject itself and it is never the end, it is rather the beginning of another story. This story continues in the infinity of the Universe…” she added.
Tactile Pictorial invites us to touch and discover its color energies to a world of colours that keep us a dreamlike escape as the renowned artist specifically says, “Color is a hope for happiness. And happiness is real when you can share it! My tactile color painting is an invitation to the land of your dreams; it is a dream of Harmony”.
“The Art is for me a moment of exteriorization. Recall this quotation of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry: “You can only see things clearly with your heart. What is essential is invisible to the eye,” she explains.
WITH MY OPAQUE OR IRIDESCENT COLOURS, MATT OR BRILLIANT, I CREATE A UNIVERSE WHERE THE INVISIBLE COLOURS BUILD BOTH A UNIVERSAL AND PERSONAL IMAGINARY SPACE
“What matters to me is the creation of sensations and not the reproduction of reality. With my opaque or iridescent colours, matt or brilliant, I create a universe where the invisible colours build both a universal and personal imaginary space: they overlap and interact inorder to evoke the feeling of wavering. Beyond time, but full of energy coming from nature itself, my structured colours create for you an atmosphere of well-being and serenity”.
“The tactile paintings filled with vivid colours, among which the rhythm and the textures could remind us of nature, sky, elements, just like those of Monet, Turner or Zao Wou-Ki, they make us discover by painting a whole new logic of beauty, building of tactile lights and immaterial colours.
“What I wish you could discover is your rich inner world, which is much richer, much more important than the visual world. We have this whole universe of energy to discover, painted melodies, ‘living pictures’ as in these magnificent compositions of tactile paintings”.
Larissa Noury quotes Oscar Wilde: Beauty has as many meanings as man has moods. Beauty is the symbol of symbols. Beauty reveals everything, because it expresses nothing. When it shows us itself, it shows us the whole fiery-coloured world.
