“Aekal is ‘now is the time’ idea that we all are trying to understand, what is implied in our aesthetic encounters with visual objects and imaginations related to our time in the world; and what these encounters reveal about art and our psyche. Our inquiry is not set on the general level of logic, philosophy of materialisation into art form. Certainly we used these disciplines and other ones, but as Mirrored in the present context. Standing in front of an art work one doesn’t see entirely what has been envisioned by its creator but the viewer creates her/his own imagery onto it, as if it is partly a mirror. That enthralling experience creates ripples in life and the creator celebrates it. Celebration makes it a full circle – be it by the materialized art or the imagined one. ‘aekal’ – ‘the present’ is a present we all must celebrate! “ says renowned artist Deb Dutta.
