THE INSPIRING JOURNEY OF THE INSPIRING JOURNEY OF SANJANA JANA: A RISING STAR IN HINDUSTANI CLASSICAL MUSIC

Sanjana Jana, a renowned Hindustani classical vocalist, has captivated audiences with her soulful voice and exceptional talent. Born and raised in Kolkata, West Bengal, Sanjana’s musical journey began under the loving guidance of her parents, Mr. Swapan Kumar Jana and Mrs. Suchandra Jana. Her early training laid a strong foundation for her future in music.

Sanjana Jana’s dedication to music led her to study under Mrs. Krishna Dutta for 13 years, where she honed her skills in vocal Hindustani classical music. Her passion and perseverance paid off as she pursued higher education, earning a Master’s degree in Hindustani Classical Vocal Music from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata.

Currently, Sanjana Jana is under the tutelage of Vidushi Mandiri Lahiri, a distinguished exponent of the Sangeet Acharya Chinmoy Lahiri Gharana. She is also learning from Ustad Sabir Khan, the Khalifa of the Farukhabad Gharana, further enriching her musical repertoire.

Sanjana Jana’s achievements are a testament to her talent and hard work. She is an All India Radio artist, graded B-High in Khayal and Light Classical (Thumri-Dadra).

She has been recognized as a National Scholar by the Ministry of Art and Culture, Government of India (CCRT), and is a scholar of the West Bengal State Music Academy. Her accolades include the prestigious West Bengal State Youth Awards, which she has received twice, and the Acharya Girija Shankar Chakraborty Award from Rabindra Bharati University for securing the top position in Hindustani Classical Music Vocal.

Sanjana Jana has performed in numerous classical music concerts across India and abroad, including a notable performance at Dhaka University in Bangladesh.
