THE ENCHANTING WORLD OF GAUDIYA NRITYA: A JOURNEY THROUGH DANCE AND CULTURE

In the heart of Sodepur, a magical evening awaited those who cherish the art of dance and culture. The Sukchar Pancham Repertory Theatre hosted an extraordinary event that was a feast for the senses.

This event, part of the 11th Year 8th Session of the Music Conference, featured lecture demonstrations on Gaudiya Nritya, a classical dance form from the rich cultural tapestry of Bengal.

The event was graced by the presence of Prof. Mahua Mukherjee, a renowned expert in Gaudiya Nritya. Her profound knowledge and graceful movements transported the audience to a world where every gesture told a story. Accompanying her was Dr. Soumya Bhowmick, Shrimoyi Mistri and Pandit Amitava Mukherjee, whose expertise added depth and dimension to the performance.

This lecture demonstration was not just a performance; it was an educational journey that delved into the history, techniques and significance of Gaudiya Nritya. The audience gained insights into the intricate footwork, expressive hand gestures and the soulful music that defines this dance form.

The event took place on 15 December 2024, at 5:30 PM, at the Jalsaghar Art Gallery Studio Theatre in Sodepur. It was part of the inaugural ceremony of the Theatre Art Festival ‘Darshaker Darbaar’ 2024-25. The organizers extended a warm welcome, encouraging all and immerse in this cultural extravaganza.
