STIMULUS PACKAGE POST COVID-19 SECOND WAVE

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced relief measures for the economy post the second Covid-19 wave.

Government extended loan guarantees and concessional credit for pandemic hit sectors including health and tourism.

The government declared the financial implication of the package at Rs. 6.28 lakh crore.

o   Additional Rs. 1.5 lakh crore for emergency credit guarantee scheme

o   Credit guarantee scheme will facilitate loans to 25 lakh persons through microfinance institutions.

o   Rs. 1.1 lakh crore loan guarantee scheme of Rs. 50,000 crore coverage for health sector and Rs.60,000 crore for other sectors

o   Shall increase ICU beds, oxygen supply at central, district and sub-district level

o   Atmanirbhar Bharat Rojgar Yojana extended to 31 March 2022

o   PMGKY Scheme extended to November 2021

o   Loans to over 11,00 tourism agents and guides.

Free tourist visas for first five lakh visitors.
