RE-INVOKING THE PALLAVAS
VISUAL PRESENTATION & INTERACTION WITH RENOWNED ARTIST VASANTHAKUMARAN. R on Sunday, 10 December 2023 @ 6.00 PM
TASMAI, Pondicherry invites art enthusiasts and visitors to witness and participate in the Visual Presentation and Interactive Session with the renowned artist Vasanthakumaran. R at the gallery and enhance the appreciation of art, explore a personal connection with the artworks and the artist.
Artist Vasanthakumaran’s recent works express an admiration and draw inspiration from the timeless masterpieces in Mamallapuram, carved in the Pallava period. He is pursuing research on the Pallava sculptures now. He has won the National Research Scholarship and attended many Art Camps as well.
Artist Vasanthakumaran has recently painted murals on the walls of Vinayagar Koil Street between Kosakadai Street and Rue de La Marine, re-invoking the scene of the Divine Ganga’s descent on the earth as depicted in Mamallapuram which was created by the Pallavas in the 7th Century AD.
