SALEEL TAMBE: A SYMPHONY OF TALENTS
Saleel Tambe is a remarkable multifaceted musician whose life is a harmonious blend of art and technology. Residing in the UK, Saleel is a popular and experienced tabla artist who regularly accompanies eminent musicians.
Born into a musical family, Saleel Tambe was fortunate to be associated with musical stalwarts like Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, Pandit Jitendra Abhisheki, Pandit C.R. Vyas and Pandita Rohini Bhate from a young age. His passion for music is deeply rooted in his family, as he has been associated with musical stalwarts since childhood. He continues to receive advanced tabla training from Pandit Ramdas Palsule, a disciple of Taalyogi Padmashree Pandit Suresh Talwalkar.
Residing in the UK, he regularly accompanies eminent musicians and excels in tabla solos and accompaniment to vocal, instrumental and Kathak dance, as well as fusion with western musicians. He has performed at prestigious venues worldwide, including the House of Commons, Indian High Commission, Southbank Centre, Sage Gateshead, The Lowry, Victoria & Albert Museum, Nehru Centre, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Braithwaite Hall, Gunnersbury Festival and many more.
Saleel Tambe has been associated with many music projects, workshops, lecture-demonstrations, presentations, seminars, Studio recordings, Radio, Television shows and festivals. He has recorded CDs and music for BBC films.
A CELEBRATED NATURE AND WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHER
In addition to his musical prowess, Saleel is an internationally acclaimed nature and wildlife photographer and a dedicated naturalist. His solo exhibitions have graced major art galleries worldwide. He has authored prestigious books published by the Bombay Natural History Society, including “Birds of Western Ghats, Kokan and Malabar (including Birds of Goa)”, “Ducks, Geese and Swans of India” and “Birds of Pune”. He has been featured in the British Wildlife Photography Awards Yearbook for two consecutive years.
Saleel Tambe has authored several books on the subject and has been writing articles for reputed publications, receiving numerous awards and accolades, including the prestigious photographic award, the distinction of Associate of Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain in Natural History (ARPS), UK. Saleel’s images are often featured in top publications, and he is frequently invited to conduct workshops, lectures and seminars on wildlife photography. He is also a wildlife and ecological advisor and a key member of several conservation projects, wildlife organizations and nature clubs across the world.
Balancing his artistic passions with his professional life, Saleel holds an engineering degree and a management post-graduation, working as an IT professional.
