MEHANDI WORKSHOP BY VARSHA PAWAR
TASMAI PUDUCHERRY ON TODAY @ 4.00 PM
Renowned Mehandi professional artist Varsha Pawar having the experience for more than 12 years of practicing conducts a workshop at Tasmai, Puducherry today. She teaches how to prepare the mehandi paste and create beautiful designs of Mehandi art, a traditional body painting with the natural paste from the powdered, dried leaves of the Henna plant, Lawsonia inermis.
“The Henna designs are very intricate and symbolic originating from a single point or bindu that represents ‘the Supreme Reality’,” says the organisers of the workshop.
This unique art can be traced back to ancient Babylon and Egypt, in India it was seen prevalent during 4th century.
