SWARANJALI PRESENTS JHARKHAND MAHOTSAV 2024: A CELEBRATION OF MUSIC AND CULTURE
The vibrant festival of Jharkhand Mahotsav 2024, presented by Swaranjali, promises to be a mesmerizing celebration of music and culture. This year, the festival will feature an array of talented artists, each bringing their unique flair to the stage.
Among the highlights is the soulful vocal performance by Sankumay Debnath, accompanied by the melodious strains of Mallar Rakshit on the sarod. Their collaboration is expected to create an enchanting atmosphere, captivating the audience with their harmonious synergy.
Adding to the musical feast, the festival will showcase a vocal-sitar duet by the talented duo Debapriya Adhikary and Samanwaya Sarkar. Their performance is anticipated to be a beautiful blend of vocal prowess and instrumental mastery, offering a unique auditory experience.
DEBAPRIYA AND SAMANWAYA: A UNIQUE DUET OF VOCAL AND SITAR
Debapriya and Samanwaya are two brilliant artists in their respective genres of vocals and sitar. Their innovative minds and exemplary friendship have created a beautiful amalgamation and inimitable duet of vocal and sitar, making them the only duo in India presenting such a performance. Both are A-graded artists of AIR and Doordarshan and have received numerous national and international awards. Their directed film, “Girija – A Lifetime in Music,” received the National Film Award for the best documentary on art and culture. They were also honored with the title “People who Care for The Art of East People” at the Sharq Taronalari Festival, curated and sponsored by the Government of Uzbekistan along with UNESCO.
The rhythmic beats of the tabla will come alive with a solo performance by Amitava Sen. His intricate and powerful tabla solos are sure to leave the audience in awe, showcasing the depth and versatility of this traditional Indian percussion instrument.
Supporting these performances are a group of talented renowned co-artists, including Sujan Chatterjee, Anil Singh, Pradip Bhattacherjee, Swarup Moitra and Sohan Ghosh. Each of these artists brings their own expertise and passion to the festival, ensuring a rich and diverse musical experience.
