INDIAN CLASSICAL VOCALIST VIDUSHI ROSY DUTTA
Renowned Indian Classical Vocalist Vidushi Rosy Datta was born in a cultural heritage family. She is the daughter of Shri Sashadhar Pandit and Smt. Sabita Pandit (Roy) and her first musical lessons started from her mother. Later she was trained and persuaded her Talim in pure classical music under the guidance of renowned vocalist Guru Pandit JVS Rao, the legendary disciple of Pandit Vinayak Rao Patwardhan, and renowned musician Pandit Biresh Roy. She was also trained under the conscientious guidance of ‘Guruma’, Dr. Sunanda Patnaik, disciple of legendary musician Pandit Vinayak Rao Patwardhan.
Renowned Hindustani Vocalist Vidushi Rosy Dutta participated in prestigious Classical Festival Saptak Festival (42nd Festival, 2022) sharing the stage with maestros Padma Bhushan Dr. M Rajan and Padma Bhushan Dr. S. Ballesh. Recently she performed at the 8th Chowdhury House Conference sharing the stage with world famous musician Pandit Sukhwinder Singh Pinky.
Vidushi Rosy Dutta performed in many prestigious platforms in India and abroad including at Ali Akbar College of Music (San Francisco), Shikshayatan Center ( New York), Vedanta Center, Washington DC, Vedanto society of Los Angeles, Chhandayan Center for Indian Music (New York), Bharat Sevashram of New Jersey, North American Hindu Temple Society (New York), Brooklyn Raga Massive of New York, Livermore Temple & Fremont Temple (San Francisco), Antara School of Indian Classical Music in collaboration with Texas Folklife And Rhythmic School Of Kathak (San Antonio) and many in Bangladesh as an invited artist by the Government of Bangladesh, Nana Sahib Pansey Guru Purnima Sangeet Mahatsav, India (July 2021) Sabarna Sangeet Sammelan, India (Dec 2021), Bharat Bhavan Bhopal, Maihar Sangeet Samaroh , Salt Lake Music Festival and many more.
Vidushi Rosy Dutta is the recipient of many prestigious awards including “Sangeet Shri” (Gold) in vocal by Bangiya Sangeet Kala Kendra affiliated to Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyapith (Lucknow) & Gandharva Sangeet Mahavidyalaya Mandal Mumbai, Yuva Samman (2015) from Kala Vikash Parishad and M Music Gold Medal. She has has given talim to many of her students in India and several countries abroad.
Vidushi Rosy Dutta will participate in the Indian Classical Music festival to be organized by Bharatiya Sangeet Vidyalaya, Dharwad, Karnataka on 11 June 2024. She will also participate in the Dewraha Baba Sangeet Samaroh at Giridih, Jharkhand on 20 July 2024.
Vidushi Rosy Dutta will be participating along with renowned vocalist Vidushi Mandira Lahiri, Pandit Partha Bose (Sitar), Ambarish Das (Vocal) and Pandit Biswajit Roy Chowdhury (Sarod) at Mallab Utsab 2024 to be held on 27 & 28 July, 2024 at Durgapur.
