DR. ANUMITA SENGUPTA STOLE EVERYONE’S HEARTS WITH HER BEAUTIFUL RENDITIONS OF TAGORE SONGS  AT THE WEEK-LONG RABINDRA SANGEET MEGA EVENT AT KOLKATA.

The Department of Information and Culture, Government of West Bengal organized a week-long Rabindra Sangeet Mega Event and  memorialized the 83rd death anniversary of the world-famous legendary National Poet, Rabindranath Tagore. 

The week-long mega-event held at Kolkata’s famous cultural venue, Rabindra Sadan marked a  fitting tribute to the legendary poet and showcased the immense talent and love for Rabindra Sangeet in West Bengal.

During the event, renowned artist Professor Dr. Anumita Sengupta captivated the audience with her soulful performance of Tagore’s compositions, including the popular song, ‘Ogo Amar Shrabon Megher’. Her enchanting voice and impeccable singing skills kept the listeners engrossed throughout the event. Renowned tabla player Shri Biplap Mandal assisted in instrumental music and accompanied by renowned musicians Subhendushekhar Das (Keyboard), Subhash Chandra Pal (Keyboard), Ritam Bagchi (Esraj) Jashojit Biswas (Guitar) and Debashis Majumdar (Percussion).

Dr. Anumita Sengupta is a professional singer and B-High Graded permanent artist (Rabindra Sangeet) in All India Radio Akashvani, Kolkata. She studied Bachelor of Music (Rabindra Sangeet) and Master’s in Music (Rabindra Sangeet) from Viswa Bharati, Santiniketan and Ph.D in Instrumental music from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. Dr. Anumita Sengupta is a god gifted artist who has received musical guidance from the renowned Rabindra Sangeet Guru Smt. Jayati Acharya.

Dr. Anumita Sengupta performed at various prestigious platforms and was honored with many awards including the National Scholarship in Rabindra Sangeet from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

Dr. Anumita Sengupta is a regular performer on Kolkata Radio, where she often explores the rich and diverse world of Rabindra Sangeet.
