CELEBRATING BENGALI HERITAGE: FESTIVAL OF BENGALI DIASPORA IN KERALA
The Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, in collaboration with the South Zone Cultural Centre and the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, proudly presents the Festival of Bengali Diaspora in Kerala. This vibrant event will take place at the Kerala Fine Arts Hall, Kochi from 8th to 10th November 2024. The grand inauguration is scheduled for 8th November 2024 at 6:00 PM.
In addition, various cultural programs will also be held at the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi Regional Theatre in Thrissur on 11th and 12th November 2024. These performances will showcase the depth and beauty of Bengali heritage, offering a feast for the senses.
CULTURAL HIGHLIGHTS
The Festival of Bengali Diaspora in Kerala at the Kerala Fine Arts Hall in Kochi from 8th to 10th November 2024 promises an array of captivating performances. The schedule includes Dhol, Dhak and Sanal by Sanjeeb Sarkar, Baul by Laxman Das Baul and the Tagore Dance drama,“Shyama” by Ghungur, featuring Sadhana Bhattacharya & Group. On 9th November, enjoy a literary meet with eminent poets and writers like Ria Gin and Jayanta Dey and Bengal Folk Songs by Shri Ashis Kumar Giri.
The festival culminates on 10th November with a grand showcase of Tagore Dance and Song by Ghungur and Gaudiya Nritya Bharati led by eminent artist Dr. Mahua Mukherjee & Group.
This festival is a true celebration of Bengali culture, offering a rich and diverse cultural experience.
CULTURAL EXTRAVAGANZA AT KERALA SANGEETHA NATAKA AKADEMI, THRISSUR
The Festival of Bengali Diaspora in Kerala continues its cultural journey at the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi Regional Theatre in Thrissur on 11th and 12th November 2024. This segment of the festival promises an enchanting lineup of performances, including Rabindra Sangeet & Nazrul Geeti by Smt. Abhradita Banerjee, Gaudiya Nritya by Gaudiya Nritya Bharati, led by eminent artist Dr. Mahua Mukherjee & Group and Purulia Chhau by Mahamaya Chhau Dance Academy.
The second day features the Tagore Dance Drama “Chandalika” by Ghungur, led by Sadhana Bhattacharya & Group.
Each performance is a testament to the rich cultural heritage of Bengal, offering a mesmerizing experience for all.
