CELEBRATE THE LEGACY OF GURU ASHIMBANDHU BHATTACHARJEE AT PURNAMIDAM FESTIVAL

Upasana Centre for Dance is proud to present Purnamidam, a two-day festival celebrating the illustrious 60-year journey of the renowned Guru Ashimbandhu Bhattacharjee at Rabindra sadan, Kolkata on 15th and 16th November 2024, starting at 6.00 PM.

Under the guidance of Avik Chaki, an Upasana scion, this festival promises to be a grand tribute to the maestro’s contributions to the world of dance.

The festival will feature a series of captivating performances.

On the 15th of November, enjoy the enchanting “Ashtanayika” by Luna Poddar, followed by a mesmerizing solo Odissi recital by Padmashree Madhvi Mudgal. The evening will conclude with “Tomaro Ashime: The Endless Journey of a Dancer,” a special presentation by the Upasana Centre for Dance.

On the 16th of November, the Purnamidam Festival will feature a series of captivating solo Kathak recitals. The evening will begin with a performance by Avik Chaki, followed by Ranjani Bhattacharjee, and culminating with a recital by the esteemed Guru Ashimbandhu Bhattacharjee.

Accompanying these talented dancers will be Subir Thakur on tabla, Mithun Chakraborty on pakhawaj, Sunando Mukherjee on sarod, Joydeep Sinha on vocals, and Rupak Mukherjee on flute.

The event team includes Soubhik Majumder as the Master of Ceremony on the 15th of November, and Tanni Chaudhuri on the 16th of November. The lighting will be managed by Soumen Chakraborty, sound by Hansi Panchali, photography by Arijit Roy and Rittik Chakraborty, and videography by Raju Dutta. This program is supported by Avik Chaki, a dedicated disciple of Guru Ashimbandhu Bhattacharjee, with special acknowledgment to Chetla Agrani.
