It can uplift spirits, provide comfort and promote relaxation,” says Subrata de, renowned sitarist and Internationally acclaimed Hindustani Classical and devotional vocalist who has recently conducted a spiritual journey for peace and harmony throughout Europe.
Shri Subrata De has been associated with one of the spiritual organizations like Mata Nirmala Devi in Europe to make people calm and have a peaceful life through his meditative musical performances for the last two years. Music and nature, together have a divine effect for human life and heal our soul.
This time Subrata De has travelled France, Switzerland, Spain, Germany and Austria with Jesse Cool and Jivali Cool (Sahaja Yogi) and performed in many concerts and lecture- demonstrations for Shri Mata ji Ashrams and other centres in Europe with the support by Jam Music, Namasté & Circularts.

RENOWNED MUSICIAN JESSE COOL, explored vibrant Indian musical instrument and fused with his beautiful soothing voice to create an atmosphere conducive to meditation and a therapy to nourish the soul and elevate the spirit. He discovered Indian Music Therapy during an inspiring trip to India in 2004, and has been sharing his passion through various concerts. He has created the musical concept, Namasté and transcends musical notes by combining the musical instrument, harmonium and his enchanting voice into an energised musical therapy. Renowned artist Jivali accompanied on Tabla and mesmerised the audience with a deep meditative state.
RENOWNED MUSICIAN MARCO KÖGEL is the founder of Circularts, the agency for International culture and event management.
Marco Kögel has been working Internationally as a culture manager, event promoter, musician, DJ and producer for more than 30 years. He discovered his love of Indian music at an early age and visited India several times and performed on a wide variety of cultural projects, concerts and a documentary film about the South Indian temple Institute, Kshetra Kala Peedam, Vaikom, Kerala. The “Nada Brahma” concert series, which Marco Kögel founded in the early 2000s, featured a number of well-known musicians from various cultures and genres. A regular guest and good friend of Marco Kögel is the Sitar maestro Pandit Subrata De.

Shri Subrata De comes from a family where music is considered worship. His father, Shri Bhutnath De is a Hindustani vocalist who, at the age of 82, still continues to teach music enthusiasts in Jamshedpur. Subrata De began learning Sitar from Shri Amarjeet Singh at a tender age of 7. Later he was under the tutelage of Late Shri Bauri Bandhu Sethi of Bhuvaneswar and still later, he received guidance from Pandit Manilal Nag of the Bishnupur Gharana, where he mastered the Dhrupad, Gayaki, Tankaari, Alaapang, Gatkaari styles and established himself as an accomplished sitar artist of the country.
Shri Subrata De has been a cultural ambassador to many countries and is a panelist of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Festival of India Cell, Zonal Cultural Centres and graded artist of AIR. Subrata De founded Swaranjali, an organization dedicated to promotion of the arts and artists in 2000. He also has various albums to his credit. Meditation, Ganga and Panchatatwa are among his known compositions. Created few new Raagas like Lata, Ataal, Shikhashree, Jogiya Ranjani, Jawahar, Bhup Malap, Subhash. Nowadays he has started his spiritual journey for self-realization through Music, Meditation & Yoga for peace and harmony in life.
RENOWNED MUSICIAN FLORIAN SCHIERTZ
Renowned musician Florian Schiertz comes from an artistic family and he took his first step in music at the age of five and half, and received piano lessons at the age of seven, at fourteen he started learning drums. In 1988, he was attracted to the Tabla after meeting the renowned Percussionist and Composer Trilok Gurtu who notated a composition, “Dha te te Dha te te Dha Dha te te Dha ge tu na ka ta” for him after a concert. This first poignant experience of the sound world and playing technique of the Tabla led Florian Schiertz to take lessons in Tabla playing in Freiburg and Basel. Two of the major influences have been Bela Bartok and Ali Akbar Khan.
At the age of twenty one, Florian Schiertz decided to specialise in Tabla and became a resident student of Udai Mazumdar (himself a pupil of Ashutosh Bhattacharya and Ravi Shankar) in both Basal and Delhi. In addition, he commenced studies in Tabla and north Indian Classical music at the Rotterdam Conservatoire with Ustad Fayaz Khan. He completed his teaching diploma in 2000 and continued as a resident student in the traditional Guru-Shishya-Parampara, with Pandit Sumantra Guha in Kolkata; himself a pupil of Jnanprakash Ghosh, facilitated by a DAAD scholarship in India. In 2003, he completed his Postgraduate studies in Master in Music (Tabla) at Rotterdam. He worked as a freelance musician and conducted various concerts and workshops at various music colleges, Universities and several Goethe Institutes and Music schools in India. Renowned musician Florian Schiertz performed at various concerts and accompanied eminent Western and Indian contemporary musicians.
