Sangeeta Gupta, an internationally acclaimed artist, has once again showcased her exceptional talent with the release of her latest documentary, “Quissa Be-Lagam: Mridula Garg.” Known for directing and shooting 36 documentary films, all scripted, edited and directed by herself, Gupta’s works have earned a place in the prestigious Library of Congress, US. Her versatility as an artist is evident through her numerous exhibitions held in renowned galleries across London, Munich, Lahore, Belfast and Thessaloniki.

On December 1st, Sangeeta Gupta unveiled her new documentary, celebrating the life and work of the acclaimed Hindi writer Mridula Garg. Born in 1938, Mridula Garg has made significant contributions to Hindi and English literature, with over 30 published works, including novels, short stories, plays and essays; many translated into various languages, her literary contributions are vast. Despite facing challenges, including police arrest during the publication of her novel “Chittacobra,” her resilience and talent have made her a prominent figure in literature. Her literary prowess has been recognized with many prestigious awards including Sahitya Akademi Award. Garg’s academic background includes a master’s degree in Economics and a teaching stint at the University of Delhi.
Mridula Garg was a research associate at the University of California-Berkeley in 1990. Her works have been translated into many languages, including German, Czech, Japanese and English. She has spoken on Hindi literature and women’s issues at various international conferences and universities, including in Yugoslavia, the USA, Germany, Japan, Italy, Denmark and Russia.
