“By definition, a spectrum constitutes varying dimensions of a similar theme within a ribbon of existence. Similarly, the group show Spectrum is a coming together of nine distinct voices, melding together in a spectrum.
Despite the diverse use of mediums for expression, source material and inclusion of symbols and motifs, there is commonality of themes like urban versus rural, migration and human/nature interaction, relationship, and co-existence.
All the works in the show are contemporaries, the existing nuances in society through the use of modern mediums and idioms.
The diversity of the medium of creative expression and artistic styles embellishes the range of the exhibition, Spectrum,” Aakshat Sinha, the Curator of the Show explains in detail.
Aakshat Sinha is an artist, poet and has curated and organised many solo and group shows including Indian Contemporaries at Art Russia 2017, I AM – identity Art Marathon, which included 40+ multi-disciplinary art events spread over 24 days in May-June 2018 and May-June 2019, Art for Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) at the Great African Caravan (GAC) at UNESCO Headquarters, New Delhi (July 2018), Freedom is My Colour, a multi-disciplinary art residency, at NIV art foundation in September-October 2019.
