AN ODISSI ODYSSEY -A JOURNEY THROUGH TIMELESS DANCE

A SOLO DANCE BY RENOWNED DANCER SHAYOMITA DASGUPTA

AN ODISSI ODYSSEY, a captivating solo dance production by renowned artist Shayomita Dasgupta, organised by Pragyadyuti – an Odissi Nrityabasa that delves into the rich cultural and historical heritage of the Odissi dance form will be presented at Satyajit Ray Auditorium, ICCR, Kolkata on 4 August 2024 @ 6.30 PM.

Originating from the ancient temples of Odisha, Odissi is known for its lyrical grace, intricate footwork and expressive gestures. The evening promises to exult in the rhythms of live music,  the grace of Odissi dance and splendid symphony of cultural extravagance.

Renowned artist Shayomita Dasgupta will be presenting her Odissi repertoire and recitals before the audience, demonstrating her mastery of the intricate techniques, expressive storytelling and spiritual depth that define the Classical Odissi dance.

Shayomita Dasgupta will be accompanied by eminent musicians proficient in Odissi live music, along with renowned accompanists including her esteemed Guru Ratikant Mohapatra on mardala and other eminent artists from Bhubaneswar Shri. Guru Bijay Kumar Jena on vocal, Sri Srinibas Satapathy on flute and Sri Agni Mitra Behera on violin.
