RENOWNED ARTIST DR. SATABDI ACHARYA PERFORMED AT SRUJANA JATIYA NRITYOTSAVAM 2024, HYDERABAD
Renowned artist Dr. Satabdi Acharya performed Gaudiya Nritya at the prestigious Srujana Jatiya Nrityotsavam 2024, a collaborative Cultural extravaganza organised by Shilparamam Arts, Crafts & Cultural Society and Department of Culture and Language, Telangana Government at Hyderabad on 6 July 2024.
Dr. Satabdi Acharyya, a Ph D in dance and M.A in English, is also a Senior National Scholar and Junior Research Fellow of Government of India, Department of Culture. She has been receiving training in Gaudiya Nritya under the guidance of Prof. Mahua Mukherjee for the last 25 years. She has performed at prestigious stages including at Chidambaram Natyanjali, Karur Natyanjali, Brahan Natyanjali, Uday Shankar Dance Festival, Nrityanjali and abroad at Moscow (Russia) and Bangladesh. She has received State Music Academy Scholar Award from Government of West Bengal, Pandit Subhankar Award, Dr. Manmohan Ghosh Gold Medal – North American Bengali Association and Rabindra Bharati University, Kala Sudhashree Apurva Pratibha Award, Nadam Natyaratna Award, West Bengal State Youth Festival-1st position and many more. She has founded Bikramshila, a dance institution in Kolkata and has several dance productions to her credit. She has written many articles on dance forms of England and Bengal in many leading journals.
Dr. Satabdi Acharya performed Chandi Vandana and Krishna Rama Katha at the prestigious Srujana Jatiya Nrityotsavam 2024.
SRUJANA CULTURAL AND LITERARY ORGANISATION
Srujana Cultural and Literary Organisation was founded for promoting upcoming artists like dancers, singers to encourage our rich heritage and culture in 1987. During the Pandemic period, many artists have been affected financially without performances, Srujana initiated a platform to conduct Srujana Jathiya Nrityotsavam, a Nritya Yagna for a social cause and supported many artists now.
“As Nrityam is an offering of pooja to God to spread divinity and spirituality, Srujana performed Nritya Pooja with many dancers in 101 famous ancient temples all over Andhra Pradesh and Telangana as a cultural tradition. We honour the real achievers in their respective fields and felicitate the achievers with Srujana Life Time Achievement and Excellence Awards including in the field of sports. We have founded Spandana, a home for children suffering leprosy, providing food and education; Aartayana for providing financial help to small vendors and boost their self-respect in the society,” says Anjana Chowdary, founder Chairperson of Srujana, Hyderabad.
