BHARAT-BANGLADESH ART FEST 2024 – a collaborative exhibition organised by Santiniketan Kala Bhavan Praktoni (SKBP) and Bangladesh Artist Group, Dhaka is on show at Academy of Fine Art, Kolkata from 7 July 2024 till 12 July 2024. Many eminent artists are participating in the first-ever massive joint festival with an aim to foster cultural bonds between talented artists of the prestigious art schools, Dhaka Art College, Bangladesh and Kala Bhavan of Santiniketan.
“In order to explore the similarities and differences in content and styles, the current initiative for the art festival and exhibition held by Santiniketan Kalabhavan Practoni (SKBP) and Bangladesh Artists Group, aims to enhance the partnership, particularly in fine arts. Both Shilpacharya Jainul Abedin, the founding principal of Dhaka Art College and Shilpacharya Nandalal Bose, the founder principal of Kala Bhavan of Santiniketan, the first modern art school outside the colonial Government art schools in India founded by Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore, are examples of modern art school founders: they are from Bangladesh and India, respectively,” says President of SKBP Dr. Janak Jhankar Narzary, eminent sculptor who has worked with many monumental creative sculptures including in 24 cities of fifteen countries of the world.
“It will be a great opportunity for art lovers of Kolkata to experience the art of various artists of Bharat and Bangladesh.
