SUMMER CAMP & WORKSHOP ON GAUDIYA NRITYA AT AGARTALA
Anandadhara Dance Academy, Agartala organised Summer Camp and workshop on Gaudiya Nritya from 29 May 2024 till 1 June 2024 at Agartala, Tripura.
“The basics such as ‘Angasadhana’, ‘Nrityanga’, ‘Shiv Bandana’, ‘Guru Bandana’ and few performances like Dhamail, Jhumur, Bou Nach were demonstrated in the 4-day Workshop. ‘Sanskriti Hut’ located in Debgram, Senpara, Tripura organised by “Bangla Sanskriti Boloy” was also presented here to promote the rich traditions of Bengal, and that’s the reason we were invited to present the ancient dance form of Bengal, Gaudiya Nritya in the Workshop,” says Coordinator and artist Guru Kaushik Shaw.
Guru Kaushik Shaw mesmerised the audience by performing ‘Narteshwar stuti’ in the Workshop.
“The Workshop facilitated the exchange of ideas, provided rich learning experiences, emphasizing the collaborative power of teamwork. I am a Bharatnatyam dancer and teacher, associated with this dance form for the last 45 years; teaches different dance forms such as Bharatnatyam, Rabindra Nritya, Nazrul Nritya and Folk. Now I have initiated to start the dance form, Gaudiya Nritya, the only classical dance of Bengal under the guidance of Guru Kaushik Shaw,” said Saswati Debdutta, founder of Anandadhara Dance Academy.
