PRAJNA INTERNATIONAL AWARD
Tapas Kumar Pal Academy of Music, Kolkata presented the Prajna International Award at Kolkata
This year, 10th annual function organized by Tapas Kumar Pal Academy of Music presented the Prajna International Award to renowned writer and music composer Professor Mr. Kalam Mahmud from Bangladesh, music director and composer of Gaudiya Nritya Pandit Amitabh Mukherjee, music composer and writer Pandit Pratap Kumar Chakraborty, eminent senior Tabla artist Pandit Samarendra Nath Mukherjee and renowned South Indian Flutist Prof. Pandit S Hariharan.
The award is instituted to recognise eminent personalities for their exceptional and outstanding contributions to their respective fields and were honoured with certificates and mementos. Prof. Pandit S Hariharan being unable to attend, his son Vid. Srinath Hariharan accepted the award on behalf of his father.
The Award Ceremony was marked with the floral tribute to the Violin exponent and legendary musician of Hindustani music Padma Bhushan Pandit V. G. JOG.
Renowned writer and Journalist Prachet Gupta, Dean of Arts Faculty, Rabindra Bharati University, Dr. Debashish Mondal, Vice President, Dr. Shankar Chakraborty, President Subhash De Niyogi, Dr. Gayatri Bhattacharya, Professor Kalam Mahamud (Bangladesh), Pandit Amitabh Mukherjee, Pandit Pratap Kumar Chakraborty, Pandit Samarendra Nath Mukherjee, Srinath Hariharan, writer and Journalist Rupak Saha, Prof. Mitra Gupta of Rabindra Bharati University and Violinist Tapas Kumar Pal, founder of Tapas Kumar Pal Academy of Music attended the function.
BOOK LAUNCH
Book -‘LOCKDOWNE LOCKER BHENGA PELAM’, by Tapas Kumar Pal, founder of Tapas Kumar Pal Academy of Music, was released by Renowned writer, Journalist Prachet Gupta, Dean of Arts Faculty, Rabindra Bharati University and Publisher Sri. Swapan Kumar Ghosh in the presence of distinguished guests at the function.
ELECTRIFYING PERFORMANCES BY THE YOUNG ARTISTS
50 Talented young artists performed a Mega Violin Orchestra with select songs of legends Beethoven, Swami Vivakananda, Rabindranath Tagore, Ataul Prasad Sen, Rajanikanta Sen, Dwijendralal Roy and Kaji Nazrul Islam and mesmerized the audience with their amazing performances. Vid. Srinath Hariharan, played enchanting violin Raga, Hamsadhvani set on Adi tala, accompanied by Vid. M. Ramakrishnan in Mridanga.
