AMARNATH YATRA

The annual Amarnath Yatra will be kept symbolic this year also due to the Covid-19 pandemic, according to the administration of Jammu and Kashmir.

 The annual pilgrimage to the Himalayan Cave Shrine was cancelled last year due to the pandemic.

The 56-day pilgrimage was scheduled to start on June 28, 2021.

The Amarnath Shrine Board will arrange live telecast darshan of morning and evening ‘aartis’ from the Holy Shrine.

 All traditional religious rituals shall be performed in the 3,888 metre high Himalayan Shrine following all Covid-19 protocols.

The Government of J&K in collaboration with Shri Amarnath Shrine Board conducts the yatra at high altitude in adverse weather conditions.
