Maestro Lokesh Anand, the most celebrated Shehnai maestro is the disciple of eminent Sangeet Martand Pandit Jasraj 

Renowned musician Lokesh Anand, the most celebrated Shehnai maestro started his training at the age of 8 under his father Shri Kalicharan ji and  was trained rigorously by the renowned Shehnai Maestro Pandit Anant Lal and Pandit Daya Shankar, learning basic techniques giving him a unique recognition.  He has mastered the ability to control and maintain the specialized technique in gayaki and tantrakari, both in shehnai.

Lokesh Anand has mastered the vocal nuances by becoming the disciple of Sangeet Martand Pandit Jasraj of the ‘Mewati Gharana’ and has the blessings of renowned Shehnai maestro Bharat Ratna Ustad Bismillah Khan.

Maestro Lokesh Anand stands amongst the world’s finest and most inspirational instrumentalists. He began revolutionizing approaches as a Shehnai artist, by mastering both Instrumental and Vocal Styles, having a spectacular command over his techniques showcasing all aspects of a balanced musician communicating outstandingly through his magical instrument Shehnai.

Lokesh Anand has not only built his unique style which holds a strong traditional approach, he has been an inspiration for many budding Shehnai artists.

He has captivated his audiences and represented India throughout the world visiting Japan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Nepal, Russia, UAE, Singapore, Bhutan, Portugal, Italy, China, Thailand and more.

Renowned musician Lokesh Anand’s myriad lectures, demonstrations and workshops in Shehnai have been highly appreciated across India and abroad.

PERFORMANCES & AWARDS

Renowned musician Lokesh Anand has performed many Solo and Duet recitals and accompanied his Gurus in various music festivals and concerts. His unique combination of musical elements in his repertoire has earned Lokesh Anand a place in India’s prestigious festivals including  Taj Mahotsav, Idea Jalsa,  Teen Prahar, Banyan Tree,  Pandit Maniram Pandit Motiram Music Festival, Akashwani Sangeet Sammelan, Shruti Mandal, Tansen Music Festival,  Saptak Music Festival,  Harivallabh Music Festival,  Sankat Mochan Music Festival, Utsaah, Online Series by Durga Jasraj and Sidhu darshan festival (Leh).  Lokesh Anand has also participated in the Akashvani Sangeet Sammelan, National Programme of Music AIR, Sangeet Sabha of AIR and National programme of Doordarshan. He has played Shehnai in the background score of bollywood movie Mimi under renowned musician A.R. Rehman in 2021.

Maestro Lokesh Anand has received many prestigious awards including Shehnai Ratna Award, Abhinav Kala Award, Sangeet Sadhak Award, Sangeet Ratna Award, Surmani Award, Yash Kala Award, Swarveni Ratna Award, Anhad Naad Brahma Award and Sangeet Kala Gaurav Award. Lokesh Anand has been honoured as the first reputed Indian Artist to represent Shehnai at the ‘Zurnazen Festival’ in Turkey. 

He has marked his name as an exceptional A-Grade Artist of All India Radio Delhi.  He is also an empanelled artist of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).
